Magnetic Sound Studios is an analog-focused recording studio designed and built to record and produce acoustic music with a warmth and depth not easily attainable in more conventional spaces.
The vibe in the studio is relaxed and warm, with 19’ and 28’ tall ceilings and panels of gorgeous wood salvaged from Durham tobacco warehouses built in the 1890’s. The space invites solo singer-songwriters, string bands, jazz combos, gospel groups, stampeding big bands, or a small orchestra to rehearse, collaborate and record their next LP, CD, 45, or 78.
We have a 1927 Steinway Model B piano, a variety of organs, keyboards, guitars, amps, and drum kits ready to inspire your creativity and bring your project to life.
